The Heron has been developed especially for small retail point of sale applications. An innovative product, unique for its light weight and simplicity of use, it has been designed to be perfectly integrated in shop check-outs. The new solution is a product that is lightweight, easy to handle, and ergonomically shaped, making operations at the counter easier.

The Heron is a bar code reader with an excellent combination of reading characteristics and features. It readily recognises bar codes, and has a high reading rate of up to 256 scans per second, with an unbeatable first pass reading rate.

It features the Datalogic patented green spot for good read feedback where the user is looking. Depending on the model, it is also multi-interface: USB, serial, wedge, wand, IBM
Once inserted in the stand, the reader automatically switches to hands free mode, and an acoustic sound confirms that the reader has been inserted correctly. In this mode, the green spot is permanently on, to show the operator where to position the code under the reader for quicker and intuitive hands-free reading.
